The main cause I've seen of problems with CObs is associated files being forgotten or misplaced. Any .wav files with the COb must be placed in the \Creatures\Sounds directory, and any .spr files (sprites) must be placed in the \Creatures\Images directory. Be aware that if a COb has no remover file with it, you may have problems de-installing it. Use universal remover utilities/CObs with caution. Some CObs require others to be installed first. Where possible I have noted this with the download/link.

If you have problems with a particular COb, try in the first instance to contact the author (see the Author Details link, left). If that is not possible, you can try asking on the newsgroup alt.games.creatures. Feel free to e-mail me if you wish; if I find a COb on this site is damaged then I'll remove it. However, I have not personally installed many of these CObs and so may not be able to give detailed advice on what to do if you have problems.

Where a COb is known to me to cause problems in some cases (eg. SuperSpeechToy, Grendel Guard) I have noted it with the download or link. Please note, THIS IS NOT AN EXHAUSTIVE LIST: if I haven't noted anything beside a COb, it just means I haven't heard of it causing problems. Use with caution, at your own risk.
